Dutel Traditional Homes

Community Commitment

Many contractors flocked to New Orleans post-Katrina to make profits off the rebuilding effort. Dutel Traditional Homes is different. We were already working in New Orleans long before the flood, and we're devoted to our city. We're rebuilders with a conscience.

Environmentally speaking, we focus on efficiency in our use of building materials. We train our team to cut boards and use other materials in such a way to minimize waste. This eye on conservation takes special oversight and planning not found on a typical worksite.

Furthermore, we work to keep New Orleans' heritage alive and out of landfills. We pride ourselves on remilling old wood boards and salvaging historic architectural elements for reuse in modern homes.

Many other organizations in New Orleans share Dutel Traditional Homes' philosophy about preserving New Orleans architecture, recycling building materials, and employing environmentally friendly building practices. We volunteer with community organizations to teach others how to remill wood and renovate and rebuild responsibly.
We encourage everyone to support those not-for-profit entities in our area who share our philosophy.
